The Technical Advisory Service for Images is pleased to offer three
days of workshops at the University of Bristol.

26th July - Setting up an image database - Cataloguing and Metadata
26th September - Capture/Digitisation - Beginners
27th September - Capture/Digitisation - Intermediate

TASI provides training workshops for those involved in image
digitisation projects, those who wish to capture images and those who
wish to use digital images in teaching and research. The September
workshops can be combined back-to-back with an overnight stay. All
workshops start at 10 am and finish by 4.30 pm.

Setting up an image database - Cataloguing and Metadata
Combines hands-on database creation and use of Image Management
with an overview of applying metadata to a collection

Capture/Digitisation - Beginners
Provides a practical introduction to the use of scanners and digital
cameras, together with an understanding of the theory of digital

Capture/Digitisation - Intermediate
Focusses upon the processes that will improve the quality of a scanned
image, including calibration, image processing and colour correction

Workshop cost 125 pounds for participants from Higher or Further
Education, and 150 pounds for participants from Government, charities,
libraries, galleries or museums. Prices for Commercial participants
available on request.
